Season's Greetings from the Holy City of Jerusalem
A rare item for aviation and El Al Israel Airlines collectors. This item is without exact date, and it is a wonderful triple fold season's greeting card showing the panorama of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, drawn by an Italian artist and engineer, who lived and worked in Jerusalem in the middle of last century (19th Century Palestine of the Ottoman Empire is meant.) On the card 5 sites are indicated as: 1. Site of the Last Supper 2. Dome of the Rock 2. The Citadel of David 4. The Holy Sepulchre 5. The Wailing Wall 6. Via Dolorosa 7. Daughters of Zion.
Outside is olive in color and inside is printed with gold tint. It is very difficult to scan these items with gold color. Coloration, shadows and lines due to the graphic process of scanning in parts and reconnecting. You can see both sides folded out and detail of the card showing Mescid-i Aksa, as known to us. Approx. size 22.0 x 9.5 cm folded, 66.0 x 9.5 cm unfolded. In very good condition. Don't miss it.
