Pegasus Airlines operates out of Istanbul (SAW) - Sabiha Gökçen Airport, named after our beloved, first Turkish female pioneer pilot and aviation instructor and the world's first female combat pilot (1913-2001). Pegasus was first formed in 1990 in partnership with Aer Lingus - Ireland and Silkar Holding - Turkey as a charter company. It was fully bought by Esas Holding - Turkey in 2005 and immensely enlarged its fleet and operations with scheduled flights to Turkish, Turkish Republic of North Cyprus and many other European and Asian destinations. It currently has 49 aircrafts in its fleet: 40 x B737-800, 2 x B737-400, as well as 7 aircrafts of IZAIR. Look at the Pegasus website, for more information.
