Istanbul Airlines is a defunct Turkish airline company.
A nice and very rare item for aviation, airline insignia and Istanbul Airlines collectors. A stewardess wings. Exact metal not known. Most possibly brass. Earlier Tulip logo, larger, thinner and plated silver color compared to Type 2, also listed. Also this one has safety pin attachment wheras the other one is pinback.
Approximate size: 4.9 cm x 2.7 cm. In very good condition.
Istanbul Airlines was founded in 1984. Istanbul Airlines became the largest private airline in Turkey in 1999 with 19 aircraft and 3375 seats capacity. In 2000, economic crisis divindled its fleet to three, and its gross income to 350 Million DM. Istanbul Airlines stopped all its flights on August 30, 2000 and fired all its remaining personnel.
