Another rarity for Turkish Airlines collectors. A Istanbul - Ankara one way ticket issued on June 15, 1950 at Yesilköy Airport in Istanbul, for a flight next day. The flight cost 50 TL. This ticket is printed by Kagit ve Basim Isleri A.S. (Paper & Printing Works Co., Inc.) in Galata (Istanbul). In this ticket "Passenger" on the cover is spelled wrong on contrary to some of the later ones. Slanted logo on inside front cover. F coupon and small ticket coupons 1-4 intact. Conditions on the inside back cover. No background logo on passenger coupon. The back design is totally different and shows a map of Turkey and DHY destinations. The slogan on the back translates as "The shortest and the most comfortable way is by airways."
Approx. size: 18.6 x 10.4 cm. Watch out for other examples of early DHY tickets, from other printers. Cover designs may look similar but actually they are not. Cloud and mountain formations, the details of the plane and logo sizes, as well as othe aspects of the tickets are different. You can see it photographed. In very good conditon. Do not miss this 59 year old piece of DHY-THY history.
